Quick & easy switch
Changing Maintenance Systems Should Not Be Complicated
Many companies stay with their current system longer than they want because switching feels time-consuming and complex. But it doesn’t have to be that way. With Mainter, you get a clear process and support from our team – from planning to a system ready to use in your operations.
From start to finish
How the Switch Works, Step by Step
You're only four steps away from your new maintenance system – in a few weeks, the whole team will be up and running with Mainter.
Step 1 Planning and Demo
We start with a review of how you work today and what maintenance system you use. Together, we create a clear plan for how the switch to Mainter will work, so that you feel confident with the process.
We go through, among other things:
-
Which system you use today
-
Which data should be transferred
-
Which functions are most important to you

Step 2 Export of Data
The next step is to extract data from your current system. Our experts will guide you on how to export everything – and help you if needed.
Examples of data and information:
-
Facilities
-
Assets
-
Work orders
-
Spare parts
-
Historical data

Step 3 Migration to Mainter
Once we have all the information, we use our migration tools to move all the data from your old system to Mainter.
You'll then have an account with all your previous history in place, so you can:
-
Explore the system
-
Test features
- See how the information is structured

Step 4 Testing and Go-Live
We'll go through the account together, test features and make sure everything looks good. When everything feels right, we'll do a final migration of the latest data and book a date to go live.
During the test period you can:
-
Use the features in practice
-
Ensure that the data is correct
-
Adjust structure and settings

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions About Switching Systems to Mainter
Here we answer some frequently asked questions about how it works to switch from your current maintenance system to Mainter.
Do you have any other questions? Don't hesitate to contact us!
How long does the switch take?
In many cases, the process can take just a few weeks – from the first demo to you being up and running in Mainter. How long it takes depends mainly on the amount of data to be moved and how quickly you can export it from your current system.
What happens to our history?
Relevant history can usually be transferred to Mainter, such as work orders, facilities and other important information. We'll go through the data with you to make sure everything looks correct.
What effort is required from us during the exchange?
In most cases, all you need to do is export data from your existing system and share it with us. We'll guide you on what's needed and help if questions arise during the process.
Once the data has been migrated to Mainter, we also go through it together. You will have the opportunity to verify that the information has been entered correctly through spot checks and a review of the structure.
Do we need IT resources to change systems?
In most cases, very little technical effort is needed on your part. The most important thing is to export the data from your current system. Our team will help you with the rest of the process.
Can we test Mainter before deciding?
Yes, you can. Once we have migrated your data, you will receive an account where you can explore the system and see how Mainter works in practice.
What happens after we go live?
After the launch, our Customer Success team will continue to help you get started properly. Together, we'll go through the system, make sure the data looks right and help you work efficiently in Mainter.
What does it cost to migrate data?
Exporting and moving data is usually not a big cost – especially compared to continuing to work in a system you are not happy with.
In order to provide a more accurate price picture, we first need to understand what system you are using today and what data should be moved. We go through this together in a first meeting.
